Wildlight

The Spirits of the Forest.

We created a 3D projection installation for the yearly Canyon Lights Experience called “Wildlight”, where the spirits of the animals that live in the Pacific Northwest were projected as massive holograms in the forest’s darkness.

Techniques used: 3D Projection , 3D Animation
Clients: Capilano Suspension Bridge

Overview

Every winter, Capilano Suspension Bridge remakes the park into an immersive light experience that brings warmth and joy to the holiday season called “Canyon Lights”. For the 2025 edition, the park wanted to innovate and offer its audience a brand-new experience. So they contacted Go2 Productions to create a 3D projection installation called “Wildlight”, where the spirits of the animals that live in the Pacific Northwest were projected as massive holograms in the forest’s darkness. The objective of this installation was to invite reflection on the connection humans have with wildlife and the importance of respecting and sharing the environment in which we all live together to find balance.

Execution:

To create the illusion of massive wildlife holograms, we used a projector and a transparent black mesh suspended between trees within the forest. At night, the mesh became nearly invisible, allowing the projected 3D animations to appear as floating, luminous figures.

The projector was installed in a hidden location, so the audience couldn’t see it and get a more impressive experience from the massive holograms that pop it out of the darkness. The installation ran from late November 2025 through January 2026. It was developed as a temporary feature that seamlessly integrated with the natural surroundings while offering a new visual layer to the Canyon Lights experience.

Results:

Wildlight quickly became a memorable moment within the park. Visitors were visibly surprised by the scale and presence of the holographic wildlife spirits and frequently stopped to film, take photos, and share their experience on social media. The installation encouraged guests to explore the park more, prompting them to spend additional time admiring the projected wildlife, and it also enhanced the overall production value of Canyon Lights.

Why It Stands Out:

Wildlight introduced a new application of projection technology to a forest environment, creating an experience that felt fresh within a well-established annual event. The installation brought innovation and emotional storytelling to the park during the cold winter months. It also offers long-term value, as the content and setup can be revisited and expanded in future seasons.
