Stargazer

Exploring the Universe

We created an original 270° immersive projection experience designed to take people on a journey through space exploration. Developed for Sensea Immersive at Tsawwassen Mills Mall, the experience was part of the full-ticketed attraction “Stargazer,” which used top-notch technology to create a vivid exploration of the universe.

Overview

Space exploration is one of the most fascinating subjects, but also one of the hardest to visualize and experience. The scale, distance, and abstraction make it difficult for people to sense it in a meaningful way.

Stargazer tried to overcome this challenge by being an original immersive installation developed for Sensea Immersive at Tsawwassen Mills Mall. Designed as a ticketed attraction, the objective was to create a museum-like experience using high-end technology, offering a journey through space that people could step into and walk through.

Execution:

We created an original 270° immersive projection experience using 10 Panasonic 5K laser projectors to map the environment and remake the room into a seamless immersive space. Our team wrote the full script and storyline from the ground up, then produced all visual animation and soundscapes. To ensure the educational content was based on real science, all facts and data used in the experience were sourced from NASA.

The experience ran for three months as a ticketed attraction, with admission sold through Fever. Go2 Productions worked as a vendor to Sensea Immersive and supported the implementation of the projection installation, while the wider project was developed in collaboration with MacMillan Space Centre.

Results:

Stargazer attracted visitors from across Metro Vancouver and offered a unique opportunity to learn about space through a high-impact multimedia experience. The 270° made the universe feel more accessible, engaging, and emotionally impactful for the public. Indirectly, the experience also increased visitor traffic at Tsawwassen Mills Mall, offering local audiences a distinctive weekend activity that combined entertainment and education, while local retail shops benefited from the increased demand of this new attraction.

Why It Stands Out:

Stargazer stands out as a strong example of how projection can make abstract ideas into an immersive experience that people can physically feel. Space is one of the most fascinating yet difficult subjects to truly visualize, and this project showed how technology, storytelling, and spatial design can make those ideas feel tangible.
