Hyundai Miami Projection Mapping

High Impact Projection Mapping Content Production

We had the great pleasure of producing an amazing 3D projection mapping project for Hyundai. The main idea was based on transforming a car into an 8-bit animation.

Techniques used: Projection Mapping, 3D animation.
Client: Hyundai

Overview

The location of the event was on the front face of The Tides Hotel, located on South Beach in Miami. The music was custom written by the very talented Anamanaguchi, a chiptune indie rock band from New York who use a hacked NES games console to generate the 8-bit sounds they use in their music.

We designed the appearance of the 8-bit world for the Art Basel installation. However, it couldn’t be too promotional, or else it wouldn’t have qualified for the exhibition. To address this, Go2 developed a unique approach that would captivate the audience.

The concept behind the Hyundai Veloster was to showcase it as a regular car at first, but then have it transform into an 8-bit version of itself. This transformation would coincide with the car taking over the building and converting it into various popular 8-bit game-like scenarios.
