Emily Carr

"The Big Idea"

Emily Carr University of Art & Design is one of Canada’s premier post-secondary universities specializing in art and design education and research.

Having outgrown their current campus on Granville Island, they initiated a Capital Campaign to engage the support of their broader community in helping them build a new campus at Great Northern Way in Vancouver, British Columbia.

With a $25,000,000 goal to reach, Go2 was hired to create something that Vancouverites could relate to—a series of fun animations that delivered the right message.

Techniques used: 2D Animation, Motion Graphics
Client: Emily Carr University of Art & Design

Overview

The Challenge:

The challenge was to create short and engaging animations that could be played with or without audio, primarily designed for transit and elevator broadcasts, targeting their downtown Vancouver demographic with quick and frequent bursts.

We collaborated with Emily Carr to create four current animations based on Rain, Hockey, Bike Lanes, and Yoga. These topics were chosen as they were of great interest at that time. This is one of the four videos we developed using this animated style.

The Campaign to date has been successful and helped Emily Carr University to get the funds to go ahead and open their new campus.
